Jo Williams, Chief Executive for the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, said: “Our thoughts are with all the families whose experiences are at the heart of this review. We know this report will also bring back painful memories for the families we let down and we are truly sorry for this. ❗A red heat-health alert has been issued across parts of England until 25 June. This is the highest level of alert and indicates a risk to everyone's health, not just vulnerable groups.
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water, and avoid excessive alcohol and caffeine
Keep Cool: Seek out air-conditioned spaces, use fans, and take cool showers
Stay in the shade: Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, especially between 11am and 3pm
Protect Yourself: Wear light, loose-fitting clothing, sunscreen, and a hat when outdoors
Check on Others: Ensure vulnerable individuals, like older adults, young children, and those with health conditions, are staying safe
Be Prepared: Familiarize yourself with local heat-health alerts and take necessary precautions
NHS England advises using 111 online or by phone for non-emergency health concerns during the heatwave.
