Type 1 Diabetes Education

We are pleased to be able to offer the DAFNE (Dose Adjustment For Normal Eating) course for adults with type 1 diabetes. It is a comprehensive course and often a life changing experience.

DAFNE aims to help adults with type 1 diabetes lead as normal a life as possible, whilst also maintaining blood glucose levels within healthy targets, to reduce the risk of long-term diabetes complications.

The course includes sessions on managing insulin around exercise, around illness, and around social activities including drinking alcohol.

DAFNE allows you to fit diabetes into your lifestyle, rather than changing your lifestyle to fit in with your diabetes, so that you can live your life with as few restrictions as possible and still achieve blood glucose results within healthy targets.
