Egan - apprentice award
Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Community and Hospitals NHS Group (The Group) is delighted to celebrate the remarkable achievement by Egan Smith, a Front of House apprentice for Children’s services at Coral House. He has been awarded the ‘most committed apprentice’ by his training provider, County Training.

Egan is currently undertaking the Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship, a programme designed to develop strong communication, problem‑solving, and customer‑focused skills. Since joining Coral House in March 2025, he has become a valued member of the team, consistently demonstrating resilience, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to supporting children, families, and colleagues.

Throughout his apprenticeship, Egan has overcome several challenges with determination and positivity. His recent award recognises not only his hard work but also the encouragement and guidance provided by the Coral House team.

Reflecting on his achievement, Egan said: “I’m really proud to receive this award. It means a lot to know that my hard work has been recognised. I’ve had great support from everyone at Coral House, and it’s helped me stay focused and keep pushing forward.”

Egan has recently passed his apprenticeship, achieving an amazing result of multiple distinctions and is looking to progress onto another administrative role within the NHS.

Rhia Boyode, Group Chief People Officer for Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Community and Hospitals NHS Group said: “Egan’s dedication has been evident from the moment he joined us. This award is incredibly well deserved and reflects the positive impact he has on the Coral House team every day. We are proud to support apprentices like Egan, who bring enthusiasm, fresh perspectives, and a strong commitment to patient‑centred care.”

Egan’s tutor, Catherine Fielding, County Training said:

“It has been a really rewarding experience supporting Egan during his Apprenticeship journey. Egan has impressed me with his commitment and determination to succeed, and it has been a real pleasure seeing his personal skills develop and seeing him grow in confidence.”

The Group continues to champion apprenticeships as a vital pathway for developing skills, supporting career progression, and strengthening the future workforce across its services.
