Local NHS Physio crowned World Champion

A Children’s Community Physiotherapist from Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust, wins big at World Rafting Championships.

Anita Evans and fellow team members are celebrating after winning an impressive 3 silver medals in the Rafting World Championships in – Sprint, Head to Head and Downriver. And Gold in the Slalom event crowning them Slalom World Champions.

Anita Evans, says:

“It was an incredible experience to take part in the Rafting World Championships. I was part of a wonderful team of women who share my passion for white water rafting.”

Anita and her team are the ‘Great Britain Master’s Women’s second team’ and took part in the International Rafting Federation’s Rafting World Championships for white water rafting in Bosnia and Herzegovina, after securing their place at the British Rafting selection event on the Olympic Course at Lee Valley.



Countries from as far away as USA, Mongolia, Australia, New Zealand, and Brazil were amongst those battling it out for medals on the stunning Vrbas River.

Anita continues:

“I am so proud of everyone in the team. Our medals are a true testament to the hard work and devotion the whole of the team have put into training.”
