Local NHS Staff team up to celebrate International Nurses Day 2024

It is set to be a real team event with Chief Executive, Patricia Davies being joined by members of staff, all eager to come together and do something fun and healthy to celebrate International Nurses Day 2024.

Patricia Davies, Chief Executive at ShropCom says:

“This is a great opportunity for staff to come together to celebrate International Nurses Day. As a practising nurse myself, I find it particularly special to be coming together with colleagues to celebrate. Our ShropCom nurses work incredibly hard, and we wanted to do something to show how much we value them.”

International Nurses Day is celebrated annually on 12 May, the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. This year’s theme is “Our nurses, our future, the economic power of care” and there will be a number of events taking place across the globe to celebrate and honour all nurses and their associations.

Rachael Watts Project Officer at ShropCom and keen runner says:

“I’m proud to be taking on the challenge of running 5k with Patricia and my fellow colleagues. We all wanted to do something together to mark the occasion and we are all really looking forward to it!”

Patricia Davies continues:

“I want to say a huge thank you to all our wonderful ShropCom nurses and the colleagues joining me on Saturday to help mark the day! As a Trust we will be hosting a number of activities throughout the week, including delivering some well-deserved treats to our nursing staff across the county.”

The run takes place on Saturday 11^th May with staff being given the opportunity to take part by running, walking or cheering on the team.
