Shropshire Community Health Trust (ShropCom) are hosting a series of remembrance events from 6th November, dedicated to paying tribute to the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
This year, ShropCom's commitment to supporting veterans and their families has been further recognised, as the Trust was awarded Veteran Aware accreditation and the prestigious Silver Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Award, reflecting their exceptional dedication to the Armed Forces Covenant.
The Silver ERS Award, a symbol of commitment to the Armed Forces community, underscores ShropCom’s continued support for the nation's heroes. This acknowledges the Trust's role in providing flexible working conditions, training, and employment opportunities for veterans and reservists.
Maggie Durrant Armed Forces Covenant Lead said:
" It is always a privilege to be able to commemorate our fallen troops, as we remember their dedication, sacrifice, and bravery. Our Remembrance Events are a testament to our enduring commitment to supporting those who have served and continue to serve, in the armed forces."
The Remembrance Events will include various activities such as, wreath-laying ceremonies across Shropshire, knitted Poppies handed out provided by a local knit and natter group, and host a collaborative forum event where guest speakers from the Royal British Legion and the Shropshire Council Outreach team will attend raising awareness to attendees from across the system. These events will serve as a reminder of the profound debt of gratitude owed to our fallen troops and our veterans.
ShropCom encourages all members of the community to participate in these events and join them in honouring the memory of those who have given their lives in service to the nation. By commemorating our fallen heroes, we express our deep appreciation for their sacrifices and unwavering dedication.
