Shropshire residents are being urged to “choose well” this Easter by taking their minor injuries to one of the counties four Minor Injury Units (MIUs) instead of attending busy A&E departments.

Our MIUs, which are based at Ludlow, Bridgnorth, Oswestry and Whitchurch, are staffed by experienced Emergency Nurse/Paramedic Practitioners. The units can treat a wide range of problems including:

- Bites, human and animal
- Cuts and lacerations
- Foreign bodies in the eyes, nose and ears
- Suspected fractures that require plaster only
- Minor burns and scalds
- Minor head injuries (with no loss of consciousness)
- Soft tissue injuries, for example sprains and bruises
- Wound infections
- Bridgnorth Hospital MIU - Open 8am-9.30pm every day.
- Ludlow Hospital MIU - Open 8am-8pm every day.
- Oswestry Health Centre MIU - Open 8.30am - 9pm on Good Friday and Bank Holiday Monday. Open 8.30am-1pm on Saturday and Sunday.
- Whitchurch Hospital MIU - closed.
- Please note MIU x-ray facilities will be unavailable for all four days.
