Health Visiting

Types of patients regularly seen

The Health Visiting Service is a universal service with every child/family having access to a health visitor. Every family is provided with contact details of their health visitor's team base so they can contact them during normal working hours. The core business hours for accessing the health visiting service are Monday to Friday 09:00 to 16:00.

This service is available to all parents or carers of every child 0-5 years of age, whether they have been born or transferred into the county.

Clients are referred into the service by midwifery services, GPs, Children's Centre Services, local authorities, health care professionals, voluntary agencies and by self referral.
