Christmas Hamper joy for patients in Telford

Dec 24, 2018

Three local organisations have teamed up to deliver Christmas hampers to patients across Telford & Wrekin.

Community Nurses from Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust joined forces with Lawley Village Academy School and The Farmstead Care Home to create and distribute the Christmas hampers.

Pupils from the Academy painted festive scenes on 25 boxes which were then filled with goodies by staff at The Farmstead, before being hand-delivered to local patients by the Community Nursing Teams.

Yvonne Gough, Deputy Director of Operations from Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust said: “We would like to thank Lawley Village Academy and The Farmstead for all their hard work.

“Some of our patients can feel quite isolated at Christmas, so they were thrilled to receive the hampers and touched that others had been thinking of them.

“We are proud to have been part of this initiative; it is a great example of partnership working for the benefit of the local community.”
