Media enquiries
All media enquiries should be directed to the Trust’s Communications Manager Mathew James on 01743 277662 or by email Mathew.James@shropcom.nhs.uk and not to individual hospitals, wards or members of staff. The communications team aims to respond as quickly as possible to all media enquiries.
Interviews, photography or filming are not permitted on any Trust property without the express permission of the Communications Manager or Director of Governance and Strategy. This is in order to protect the privacy of staff and patients, and to uphold one of the key principles of NHS healthcare and the NHS Constitution – respecting privacy and dignity.
All requests for interviewing or photographing patients or staff must be made through the Communications Manager or Director of Governance and Strategy. The Trust appreciates as much notice as possible for such requests, and reserves the right to deny access without providing specific reasons - though it will endeavour to fulfil as many requests as possible.
The Trust respects patient confidentiality and privacy and follows strict local and national rules in this respect.
The Trust will not give out any information about a patient or member of staff unless we are given express permission from the individual or, in particular circumstances, their next of kin. Even if a patient has approached the media directly, we will not normally be able to respond unless the Trust has been able to gain the consent of the patient to do so.
