Stay Safe This Bank Holiday Weekend

Apr 26, 2017

People are being reminded that there is plenty of help available to treat minor illness and injury over the May Bank Holiday weekend.

Bank Holiday weekends are normally busy for the NHS, especially if people are taking advantage of any good weather by having barbecues or getting around to some DIY.

If you do need help during the weekend then our Minor Injury Units in Bridgnorth, Ludlow and Oswestry can deal with a wide range of conditions including:

  • Cuts and lacerations
  • Fractures (that require plaster only)
  • Bites
  • Minor burns and scalds
  • Foreign bodies in the eyes, nose and ears
  • Minor head injuries (with no loss of consciousness)
  • Soft tissue injuries, for example sprains and bruises
  • Wound infections
Pharmacies can also help with a range of common conditions and minor injuries, such as aches and pains, cystitis, colds and skin rashes. They can also help with repeat prescriptions.
